Our Bilingual Curriculum is based on a combination of philosophies:


- Reggio Emilia: is a student-centered method which utilizes self-directed, experiential learning in a relationship driven environment.


- STEM: is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in specific areas such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics

Teacher Requirements: 

-CPR/First Aid

-Bloodborne Training

-Food Handler Training

- Sleep Safety Training

- Disaster Plan Training

- Cleared background check

- STARS hours (minimum of 20 per year)

- CDA/AA/BA in Early Childhood Educ

We believe arts and language are important for the development of children, exposing them to different languages increases brain activity and provides them the opportunity to learn about other cultures.

Students will have the opportunity to explore and develop cooking skills as part of the curriculum, this will help developing healthy habits and promote health awareness.

Students will be provided the opportunity to connect with their inner self while boosting physical health. Yoga has been proven to provide many benefits for physical and mental health.

ADMINISTRATION STAFF

OWNER - Fatima Escareno

Fatima holds a BS in Social Psychology with a concentration in Children and Adolescents, BA in Early Learning and Teacher Education & Bachelor in Social Work, she also holds a Master's in Clinical Psychology. Her experience includes working for non profit organizations dedicated to helping families in adversity and children with special needs, she has also worked at private and public schools as a behavioral specilist and program director in California. Fatima is fluent in Spanish and English, and currently working on learning more languages. Fatima's daily responsabilities at The Learning Nest include behavioral assessments, occupational and behavioral therapy, staff trainings, curriculum and planning.


Fatima is also the Owner of Serenidad Counseling which provides client treatment programs, support and resources to families, children and adolescents.


"I'm proud of my culture so one of my favorite things to do is visit my family in Monterrey, Mexico, explore new places in my beautiful country and eat delicious Mexican food. I also enjoy reading with a cup of coffee, going to the movies, dancing, going to the gym, traveling and spending time with my family". Fatima is proud to be from Mexico.

DIRECTOR - Marisa Santos

Miss Marisa is The Learning Nest Preschool Director, she has experience working with families and children. She was an au pair for many years and moved on to a management position. Marisa holds a BA in Psychology and AA in General Business, she is currently back in school to earn her AA in Early Childhood Education. She also provides support in the classrooms as a substitute teacher when needed and provides support to the teachers. She likes working with children and her personality helps her build a trusting and strong relationship with children and their families.

She likes to get involved in planning and curriculum to provide ideas and support the teachers with activities.

Marisa likes to dance, listen to music and the beach! She loves the outdoors and doing activities such as hiking and walking. She enjoys reading a book and having relaxing moments during her day and loves to travel. She has been to many countries and one of the things she appreciates the most is learning about other cultures. Marisa is proud to be from Spain.

OFFICE ASSISTANT - Dani Gutierrez

Dani is the Office Assistant, she started as a teacher in the Pre-K classroom and after going back to college she decided to change her professional goals and get more involved in administration and business. She is a great resource for teachers and families, always willing to support anyone that needs her and she continues to provide care to children once in a while. Dani also supports the classrooms as needed and has experience creating a curriculum for the students. Dani is currently working on earning her BA in Teacher Education but would also like to focus on other areas. She loves spending time with students and parents, planning school events and making sure everything runs smoothly. Dani is proud to be from Guatemala.

Owls Classroom: 24 to 36 month olds

YOUNG PRESCHOOL

Deers Classroom: 2.5 to 3.5 year olds

PRESCHOOL

Rabbits Classroom: 3.5 to 5 year olds 

BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL AGE

ISD Students: Kindergarten to 4th grade

SCHEDULE OPTIONS:

PART TIME: 9:00am to 1:00pm

FULL TIME: 9:00am to 3:00pm

ALL DAY CARE: 7:00am to 6:00pm
